Welcome to Fillam. We built this platform to celebrate the art of storytelling. Whether you’re a casual viewer or a cinema purist, we want this to be the best place to discuss what you’re watching.

To keep the experience enjoyable for everyone in the audience, we ask that you follow these guidelines. Imagine this as modern theatre etiquette: enjoy your popcorn but avoid kicking the seat in front.

1. Critique the film, not the fan

Cinema is subjective. You might love a movie that someone else hates. That’s the beauty of it.

  • Do: Debate plot holes, acting choices, and cinematography with passion.

  • Don’t: Attack, insult, or harass others for their opinions. Disagreement is welcome; disrespect is not.

2. No spoilers without warning

Ruining the ending is the cardinal sin of film culture.

  • Do: Discuss twists and endings freely, but use the “[spoiler]” tag when posting.

  • Don’t: Drop major plot reveals in open comments or reviews without a warning. Let others experience the magic first.

3. Keep the theatre clean (safety & hate speech)

We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech and harassment.

  • Do: Foster an inclusive community where everyone feels safe sharing their takes.

  • Don’t: Post content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Harassment, bullying, and doxxing will get you ejected from the theater immediately.

4. No Gatekeeping

There is no entrance exam for Fillam. Whether someone watches obscure indie documentaries or summer blockbusters, they belong here.

  • Do: Share your knowledge and recommend hidden gems.

  • Don’t: Belittle others for their taste or knowledge level. "You're not a real fan if..." arguments have no place here.

5. Authentic reviews only

Fillam is powered by real people, not bots or shills.

  • Do: Write genuine reviews based on your own viewing experience.

  • Don’t: Spam the feed, post repetitive promotional content, or use automated bots to inflate likes or comments. Misinformation and impersonation are strictly prohibited.

6. Respect the IP

We celebrate creators.

  • Do: Share commentary, reviews, and fair-use critiques.

  • Don’t: Post links to pirated content, illegal streams, or leaked scripts.

7. Protecting minors (zero tolerance)

The safety of children is non-negotiable. This is the one rule where there are no warnings—only immediate action.

  • The Policy: Fillam has a zero-tolerance policy regarding Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). Any content that depicts, promotes, or facilitates the sexual exploitation of children is strictly prohibited.

  • The Consequence: We will remove the content, permanently ban the offending user, and report the incident to relevant authorities (such as the NCMEC) and law enforcement.

Enforcement

We prefer to keep the lights on and the show running, but we will take action if these rules are broken. Depending on the severity of the offense, we may:

  • Remove the content.

  • Issue a warning.

  • Suspend your account temporarily.

  • Permanently ban your account.
